Happy New Year!

2012–I can’t believe it’s over, can you?

I don’t know what your take on the year was–good, bad, meh–but mine was definitely a roller coaster of epic proportions. I traveled to England for Jeff Mangum’s ATP and then met up Monica for a foodie tour of London; I visited Paris for the first time and fell in love with a bowl of noodles (that I can’t stop thinking about). G & I started our garden and watched it send butternuts across the front lawn and we ate more tomatoes than we ever imagined we could. I photographed my first restaurant & landed a gig with some publications in town, spent an epic 24 hours at Lambstock, and started a new job. Celebrated 2 years with G, rocked out Vegan MoFo with a cookbook challenge, and spent a wonderful year discovering new blogs and being inspired by all your restaurant eats and recipes.

Whew, it’s been a big one.

So it’s my great pleasure to announce on this first day of 2013 the launch of my personal portfolio over at JesGearing.com. If you had told me a year ago that I would be working with several clients on a regular basis, shooting photos of not only food but also editorial work, I would have said that you were lying. But it’s true.

I haven’t talked much about these new gigs on here much–I’ve more been sink or swimming it, running around like a chicken with my head cut off–but I’m hoping to integrate more of these photoshoots into the blog in 2013. Each opportunity was unexpected and exhilarating and I can’t wait to see what this year holds.

I hope you all had a wonderful time celebrating the new year and I’ll be back soon with recipes and restaurant reviews and other fun odds & ends. It’s 2013, ya’ll, let’s rock this year!
